This is what happens when you don't moisturize.
I grew up on a healthy diet of old black and white horror movies. But for some reason I never saw this movie.
But when I did see clips of it I did get a little freaked out by it.
Kind of erotic and ahead of its time in a way - especially when she is swimming in the water. The beautiful female form glides away, oblivious that the creature is mimicking, responding to her movements just a few feet away. Underneath the surface...oh, those Freudian secrets of the forbidden Black Lagoon!
Great post. I love these pics. I'm a big fan of these movies. It was always one of my favorites when I was growing up.

It's a great costume on the creature, really looks believable in that cheesey old B&W horror film way.

Yes and thanks for including the link to the video! All of the best horror/ scifi films have great layers like that. It's such a well-filmed/ put together sequence. There really is innocence and playful sexuality there in a subtle way that few filmmakers have been able to accomplish. Scenes like that make it more then just a run of the mill horror film.
