What's With Elijah Wood?

Here are some pictures of Elijah Wood from Cannes and I just have to say he's starting to look a bit like Gollum from Lord of the Rings. It's not just just his appearance either (though that doesn't really help any) it's that damn camera, he takes it everywhere. he has an apparent obsession with the device almost like unto Gollum for the one ring. It's fine to want a memento of your experiences but he seems to be doing nothing but hiding behind the little metal box. And Elijah Wood as Iggy Pop? I just don't see it.
