I love a good sword fight.

Man this movie looks cool!

Based on the Arturo Pérez-Reverte books, Viggo Mortensen plays the Spanish soldier-turned-mercenary Captain Alatriste, a heroic figure from the country's 17th century imperial wars.

Unfortunately all the trailers are in Spanish...but man does this movie look cool!

i just finished reading "Captain Alatriste" and have started "Purity of the Blood." the author is one of my favorites, although i'm not crazy about his new translator. i may have to read the books in spanish. i imagine the movie will be a combination of the two books, which is a good thing. and viggo is an excellent choice for Alatriste. i'm officially excited by this.

On a totally unrelated note, there's a short movie called _The Death of Salvador Dali_. It's 18 minutes, won a number of awards, but mostly just has Dita Von Teese in it (playing Gala). I haven't seen it yet (it's itunes exclusive release, and i don't want to buy DRM, but i'll break down eventually :/ ). Have you seen it, and is it any good? -mrmoo

Yes! I'm glad to find someone who agrees with me. I love Perez-Reverte's mystery novels. The Club Dumas and Flanders Panel are two of my favorite books but had a heck of a time getting into the Alatriste books.

And thanks for the heads up on The Death of Salvidor Dali movie. I saw the trailer sometime last year and have been waiting for this movie to become available. I downloaded it off of I-Tunes a few minutes ago and watched it. It was great, really wonderful. I strongly reccomend it!
