Goodnight Sweet Prince

Calvert DeForest AKA Larry Bud Melman the Letterman staple has passed away. God I loved this guy he always made me laugh.

Click here to view the classic bear suited Melman at work:

That is a loss to the world of comedy indeed.

What a great clip! The funniest part was that nobody really reacted strangely to a bear asking for change for a ten, like it happens every day! Also, the scene with Melman and Letterman talking about the bear suit in the beginning was kind of poignant, in the context recent events. (It was Melman's own suit! He probably wore it around the apartment.)

I used t love when he'd swear at Dave, and then get bleeped out and do that loud open mouthed laugh he'd so. Very funny man, and a great loss.

The best part of the open-mouthed laugh was the delay. He'd say the joke, then pause, then Heh heh heh ha! Great, great stuff.

Dr. Zaius-
I know! I always remember that in this clip. Come one people it's a guy in a bear suit.

I think the saddest part of hearing about DeForest's death was learning that no one surrvived him. He didn't have any children to carry on his spirit.

So naturally funny, you don't see that very often.

So great, god I can just see that laugh in my head. He was just so memorable. I really will miss him.
