Drawing Challenge!

Lee over at Quit Your Day Job and I have decided to throw a little art challenge at each other. I've asked him to draw a Sin City inspired piece and he's asked me to draw Chiana from Farscape. We've also both agreed to draw our own versions of Aquaman. Lee has mad drawing skills so this should be pretty cool when all is said and done. I plan to post my drawings later this week and once Lee has finished I'll post his as well. This should be very neat! Isn't the internet amazing?

Here is a preview of my unfinished Aquaman drawing.

I like your pic thus far! This gives me an idea for an ongoing series you could consider - "supercrotches" -- closeups of the (clothed) naughty bits of superheroes.

Beware, the following text in my comment is non-Aquaman related. I woulda emailed ya instead if I coulda.

I have absolutely no right to ask this of you, but I was wonderin', would you care to take a look at my version of a children's story:

The Velveteen Cockroach

If'n you like it and have the inspiration, I'd be curious to see an idea of an illustration you could conjure up. I just suck as a "drawer". It's not for anything commercial or anything, I just thought it would be neat to see some cartoon representation of a scene from the story.

Thanks and God Bless.

That's looking awesome - from what I can see of course! I'm drawing this weekend so should have them ready by Monday - I've got the best idea for the Sin City pic!!!

Cool! I am a huge fan of Aquaman (always have been) and I can't wait to see this picture finished.

And will Aqualad be in the picture?

Supercrotches! Fabulous! Now that's a teriffic guessing game. I promise to give it a try!

I just read the story, loved it and I think it's a great request! I have a couple of ideas so I'd love to do a few illustrations. I will get back to you...this should be fun!

Cool! I hope to have mine up this weekend or early next week as well. It's going to be a busy weekend for me, I get to try and build a Hogwarts Express out fo refrigerator boxes for our bookstore's Harry Potter 7 book release party. Maybe I'll photoblog it!

I am still jealous of your Aquaman garbage can. I hope you dig the picture when it's done.

Dr. Zaius-
I think around 1975 someone took Aqualad and Kid Flash out behind the woodshed and shot them thru the head. you have a better explination for where they've been?

Today on "ask a comic book guy"...
Aqualad and Kid Flash...

Garth is now known as Tempest, and has sorcery based powers which affect cold and heat. Was thought to be dead for almost a year after Atlantis got stomped by the Spectre in the events of Infinite Crisis, but has recently reappeared powerless and no longer able to breathe underwater, so he comes off looking like a human carburetor.
His own wife and child are still unaccounted for.

Wally West got his own series in 1987 after assuming the identity of the Flash when Barry Allen died in the events of Crisis on Infinite Earths. That series just came to an end with the disappearance of Wally, and his wife and kids, and Bart Allen (Impulse) inside the 'Speed Force', again during Infinite Crisis.

You asked. :D
