Becca, this is GREAT! Thanks for sharing it since I am a Goldsmith fan.
It was always like Jerry would get the short end when comparing the big genre films of the last couple of decades. Williams gets SUPERMAN, Goldsmith gets SUPERGIRL; Williams scores INDIANA JONES, Goldsmith gets ALLAN QUARTERMAIN.
But his work on so many movies (IN LIKE FLINT, PLANET OF THE APES, PATTON, STAR TREK THE MOTION PICTURE, to name a wee few) is so good, so many times better than the movie.
Love to see more of this. I don't edit videos, so I gotta ask: How do you scrape off the Williams background music and add someone else's?
Mike-
Goldsmith is an amazing composer who really doesn't get enough credit sometimes. The music from Planet of the Apes, Gremlins and ST the Motion Picture is iconic. It's too bad they didn't use his music for Legend, it's such a wonderful score.
And I actually didn't do the edit on that video I just stumbled onto it over at YouTube. I know not how to do something like that but it does seem like a fun project to try out.
